Pre-surgical vitals: HR 350 bpm, RR 45 brpm
Lubricated eyes, placed in dorsal recumbency. Patient had already
removed most bandaging material over the left leg wound, so removed
what remained except for sutures. Gently scrubbed the area with
dilute betadine. Irrigated with sterile saline. Removed sutures.
Gently abraded the wound bed with gauze to stimulate bleeding
and growth. Removed approx. 1mm tissue from edges of wound to
stimulate tissue growth and healing. Irrigated with saline again
to ensure cleanliness. Undermined subcutaneous tissue to allow
tension-free closure. Apposed edges and sutured in one-layer
closure using simple interrupted pattern. Applied triple-antibiotic
ointment to surgical site, Telfa pad, cast padding, and Vetwrap
with tape at distal and proximal ends of bandage. Patient recovered
quickly and with no obvious complications.

Left leg wound was surgically debrided. 6 total tag sutures were
placed with 4-0 PDS suture. Umbilical tape was used to pull wound
together by seperately tightening to each pair of tag sutures.
Duoderm was applied directly onto the wound. Cotton and Vet Wrap
were applied for outer bandage. 

Prepped wound debridement site with betadine solution. Added
sterile lubricant to wound site to aid in debriding scab. Pink
granulation tissue was present underneath. Two simple interupted
sutures were placed on cranial aspect of wound. Then two horizontal
mattress sutures were placed just caudal to the interupted sutures.
4-0 PDS suture was used. Stents were made from a T-port line
to aid in tension relief of the horizontal mattress sutures.


Wound on medial aspect of the second digit was examined and Vetericyn
ointment was applied. No further treatment was warrented at this
time. 

Patient recovered uneventfully from anesthesia. 

Stadard pluck & prep of wound area L lateral tibiotarsus.  Peeled
away brown, dessicated tissue overlying the wound.  The periphery
has nice, pink, healthy-looking tissue.  Along the center there
is still some tan tissue
